Pakistan Embassy in Afghanistan Hosts Solemn Ceremony to Mark Kashmir Solidarity Day.
Ambassador Nizamani Underscores Unbreakable Ideological Bond
February 5, 2026
Kabul, Afghanistan — The destinies of the Kashmiri and Pakistani peoples are deeply intertwined, and a Pakistan that remains strong in its ideological convictions is essential for the liberation of Kashmir. Likewise, the realization of the legitimate rights of the Kashmiri people is vital for the complete fulfillment of Pakistan’s founding ideology.
These views were expressed by Ambassador of Pakistan to Afghanistan, H.E. Mr. Ubaid-ur-Rehman Nizamani, while addressing a solemn ceremony held at the Pakistan Embassy in Kabul to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the just struggle of the Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination, Ambassador Nizamani described the Kashmir cause as a fundamental pillar of Pakistan’s spiritual, moral, and national identity. He emphasized that the bond between Pakistan and Kashmir is rooted in a deep ideological and spiritual kinship.
The Ambassador highlighted that Pakistan’s stability, security, and ideological foundations are inextricably linked to the freedom of the Kashmiri people from Indian occupation. He reminded the audience that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute remains one of the oldest unresolved issues on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council, with its resolution—through a free and impartial plebiscite under UN auspices—long overdue due to India’s persistent intransigence.
In his concluding remarks, Ambassador Nizamani called upon all Pakistanis to strengthen the nation’s ideology by fulfilling their individual and collective responsibilities. He stressed that solidarity with Kashmir is not merely a foreign policy position, but a national duty essential to Pakistan’s moral and ideological integrity.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for the martyrs of Kashmir and for the peace, stability, and prosperity of Pakistan.

Kabul–Islamabad Talks in Istanbul End Without Progress
ISTANBUL — Hopes for a breakthrough between Kabul and Islamabad have faded as negotiations held in Istanbul concluded without any concrete outcome.
Sources close to the matter told Khurshid News that the Pakistani delegation withdrew from the discussions after the Afghan side rejected several of Islamabad’s demands, effectively bringing the talks to a standstill.
According to the sources, the talks collapsed over disagreements regarding a number of final clauses and what was described as “undiplomatic conduct” by members of the Pakistani delegation.
Officials from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that Afghan territory is not used against Pakistan. In return, they asked Islamabad to respect Afghanistan’s sovereignty by halting airspace violations and preventing U.S. drone operations. However, the source said Pakistan refused to comply with these conditions.
Former Afghan ambassador to France Omar Samad commented on the situation, saying:
“It remains unclear what each side’s true intentions were — whether Pakistan genuinely sought a practical solution or merely aimed to create an impression of engagement.”
Meanwhile, the Pakistani delegation reportedly made demands that were deemed unacceptable by the Afghan side. Among them was Islamabad’s request for the Islamic Emirate to officially designate Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as a terrorist organization and take action against its members.
Kam Group and Saudi’s Delta International Sign MoU on TAPI Gas Project
The private Afghan company Kam Group has announced that following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in September for the generation of 2,000 megawatts of electricity, it has now signed a new agreement with Saudi Arabia’s Delta International in the gas sector.
According to Kam Group, the MoU between Delta International and Afghanistan’s Ministry of Mines and Petroleum aims to support the implementation of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline project, estimated to be worth $10 billion.
Mohammad Gul Khalmi, senior advisor to Kam Group, stated: "An official representative of Delta International visited Afghanistan, and jointly with Kam Energy, they have committed to investing in Afghanistan’s gas energy sector. This is one of the major projects the Afghan people have awaited for nearly twenty years. Due to budget shortages and political changes, the project had faced delays. I’m referring to the TAPI project, or the pipeline transferring Turkmen gas to South Asia.
